We embed videos from YouTube using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. This mode may set cookies on your computer once you click on the YouTube video player (for bandwidth-discovery and views-increment), but YouTube will not store personally-identifiable cookie information for playbacks of embedded videos using the privacy-enhanced mode. The embedded videos do not set cookies themselves and can be played with no cookies set.
Even with YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, as soon as you click “Play” on an embedded video, YouTube sets a Flash cookie (LSO, Local Shared Object) on your system (from s.ytimg.com – a domain controlled by Google). Flash cookies can back up the data that is stored in other cookies. When you delete cookies, your Flash cookies are not affected, which means that a website may still recognise you if it backed up the deleted cookie information on a Flash cookie. We have no direct control over the use of the data stored in this object by YouTube. Flash cookies can be removed using the Adobe Flash Settings Manager.
